SERVES:
YIELDS 14 SEVEN-INCH TORTILLAS


 


INGREDIENTS:

4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
½ cup lard
Warm water up to ½ cup


DIRECTIONS:

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and lard together by hand until ingredients are thoroughly combined. Add about ¼-cup warm water into dough and continue to mix with by hand until dough is soft. Use only enough water until dough is soft.

Form dough into small balls. Do not let the dough rise. Roll dough out into about 1/8-inch thickness. Place onto cast iron skillet or grill (between low and medium heat) and cook until light brown. Flip and repeat on the other side. Do not overcook.
