Our Bolita Beans are grown in the New Mexico Estancia Valley where the climate and elevation, of about 6200 feet above sea level, contribute to producing some of the finest beans in the country. The Bolita is considered an heirloom that was planted by the Spanish in Northern New Mexico. This bean is much like a Pinto Bean in looks and flavor with a richer taste and creamier broth. The Bolita also cooks in less than half the time as a Pinto and is easier to digest. For all these reasons the Bolita Bean is very popular in among New Mexcians.
We sell a 10 lb. burlap bag for those serious, protein conscious bean eaters. We also sell a small 1lb. bag that is excellent as a small gift or is a great little sampler for those who would like to venture farther into this bean rich country.
