Our natural ristras are beautifully decorative as well as edible. They are hand-tied and made from Sandia Hot sun-dried New Mexico chile. Ristras originate from native people who strung up their chile to dry for later use. They have become a "welcome" symbol meaning "Mi casa es su case" which translates to "My house is your house." Ristras make great gifts for people who want to use them for making red chile sauce or for those who want to simply enjoy their natural beauty.
To make red chile sauce from the edible ristra it is ideal for your to start at the top of the ristra. Just slide the corn husk topper up, untie the necessary pods, slide the topper back into place, and continue to enjoy your ristra and your red chile sauce.

This is NICE.
Peppers are big and bountiful (the ristra is WAY larger than I had expected, what a nice surprise). Nice, even color and CLEAN. It arrived intact, and the peppers are tied on just right -- not too loose, not too tight.
I wish it would be around long enough to hang as a decoration, but my first batch of chile sauce was so good, I'm going to use the rest up this weekend!
